Back in March 2007, Chris started planting out the property. He'd waited for two years to experience the seasons and take the time to decide what form the parklands would take.

We moved the rear houseyard fence back 12 metres and started work on creating the "secret garden". At various times while it was getting established, it has taken on different themes and roles. Now the guavas form a beautiful arch and the conifers provide a fully enclosed and protected area for our lime tree, roses and crepe myrtles.

Most of the 700+ plants that Chris has planted were tube stock, or small stock sourced locally. Everything gets a bit of TLC until it is established and then the plant is on its own. The vast majority survive and thrive inspite of  winter frosts of -6, and summer scorchers reaching 40 degrees celsius.
