We recently added "Ruth", a beautiful marble statue to our garden. She looks out to Mt French and Mt Edwards, with the great Dividing Range as the backdrop. In memory of Ruth Stoneley, an inspiration and a living goddess.

Chris is creating corridors for birds and other wildlife, through a drought resistant parkland. The gardens are very young, only 1-2 years in maturity, and part of a much longer term planting project by Chris.

We try to adopt a sustainable approach to living. The goats give us manure .. which composts with other matter .. provides help for the vege patch and grows more fodder for the goats ... prunings will be returned to the gardens as mulch, or provided as fodder to the goats.

Lots of frost and a few losses in the plant department - the area remains very dry and again, no rain has fallen in a long while. The winter flowering has provided a welcome source of food for an increasing number of birds.

Insect visitors, of the welcome kind are on the rise ... as are the lizards and other potential food sources for the birdlife.

We have several different areas .. Judy's Memorial Garden (although she's very much still with us ...), Rosemary's Photinia tribute ... and lots more ...
We'll upload the pics as the gardens progress.

Chris has planted over 400 native plants and trees. The faster growing wattles are doing well, even with the frosts.

The frosts have killed or damaged quite a number of the plants in the house yard.

There isn't a martin in sight now - and very few swallows. Unlike March when over a thousand of them decided to party on the power lines.
